Rent and key deposits are payable in full before arrival for the full period booked. No refund will be given in respect of late arrival or guests leaving before the expiry of their reservation period. No keys will be released if the key/breakage deposit is not paid prior to arrival.

Right of admission is strictly reserved and the proprietor/and or his staff may refuse admission to the camp without giving any reason for such refusal. We require a minimum of 2 nights for a weekend booking. Payment in full is required if the booking is for less than 4 days. For bookings longer than 4 days, 50% of the total cost must be paid within a stipulated date and the balance to be paid 2 weeks before arrival.

A refundable key/breakage deposit will be charged on all cabins to cover breakages, losses, damages and unauthorized use of the fire extinguisher. This deposit or part thereof as appropriate will be refunded into your bank account or by prior arrangement by cheque to your postal address when the cabin has been checked. Cabins including crockery and cutlery etc must be left in a clean condition or a charge will be imposed.

Where specific cabins are requested we reserve the right to allocate similar cabins where necessary.

Deposits made for peak season bookings – The December Holidays, Easter Holidays and Easter weekend will not be refunded if cancelled within 1 month of commencement of the booking, unless we are able to re-let the cabin for the full period booked.

For other times, refunds will not be made when the cancellation is within 14 days of commencement of the booking, unless we are able to re-let the cabin for the full period booked. When deposits (not key deposits) are refunded an administration fee of R100.00 per cabin will be levied.

December holiday bookings - from mid December to 1st week in January are a minimum of 10 nights. Easter weekend bookings are 4 nights. Weekend bookings cannot be taken at these times. We do not accept credit/debit cards or cheques. Cash or EFT payments to be deposited into our bank account.

Periods of hire start at 14h00 and end at 09h00 or BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT at 16h00 on Sunday for weekend bookings from Friday to Sunday. If the cabin is not occupied by 14h00 on the day following the reservation commencement date and no notification has been received of late arrival, the reservation will lapse and any money received will not be refundable.

Arrivals are requested to book in by 16h00- Monday to Thursday and by 19h00 on Friday. Arrivals after 19h00 must make prior arrangements with the office. Prior arrangements must be made for arrivals on a weekend or public holiday. The accommodation is for those adults and children listed on the arrivals form only.


EFFECTIVE 7/12/2018 we have re-instated our visitors policy as the water restrictions have been eased. However we reserve the right to impose our no visitors policy if we find it is getting out of hand and too much water is being used. Please note the person in whose name the booking is made is responsible for the visitor’s payment. Please read our visitors form carefully regarding numbers of visitors and parking as well as no sleeping over and visitors must be off the property by 20h30.

On acceptance of the booking with The Blue Lantern you – and those people listed on the arrivals form will be subject to the following:

1. You will be held responsible for and charged for any damage or breakages done by yourself and or your visitors.
2. No loud parties, loud radios disturbing noises or music from any vehicle or cabin will be allowed. No equipment that music can be played from may be allowed. Television sets are acceptable provided they are only used for visual use and not music.
3. No pets will be allowed in the camp. Please note that this also applies to your visitor’s pets.
4. Only ONE motor vehicle per cabin is permitted. Your visitors must park their cars in the car park.
5. No person shall erect lines or hang out washing at any place in the camp except at the place set aside for such purpose. This does not apply to the hanging out of bathing costumes and towels.
6. Fires are permitted only in the braai areas provided. Please ensure that all fires are properly extinguished when your braai is over. Please do not use the fire extinguisher to extinguish your fire. Please do not leave your fire unattended when there is a gale force wind blowing.
